About Geometry Formulas
Geometry is the branch of mathematics concerned with the size, shape, and position of figures. Formulas are the shorthand that let you go from a few measurements — a side, a radius, an angle — straight to an answer, whether that's an area to tile, a volume to fill, or a distance to travel.
A long history
Many of these formulas trace back to ancient Egypt, Babylon, and Greece — Euclid's Elements alone laid the groundwork for most of plane geometry still taught today.
Two dimensions vs. three
Area and perimeter formulas describe flat shapes; volume and surface-area formulas extend the same logic into solids you can hold.
Everyday uses
Architects, engineers, designers, and DIYers use these formulas daily — from flooring a room to calculating how much paint a curved surface needs.
Coordinate geometry
Placing shapes on an x–y plane connects geometry to algebra, letting you compute distance, midpoints, and slope with pure numbers.
